  7. This installation process supports the HP ScanJet IIcx, IIp, and IIc 
  8. scanners connected to the HP ScanJet IIcx SCSI interface card (C2502-
  9. 66500 for ISA, or C2053-66500 for Microchannel). The HP ScanJet, ScanJet 
  10. Plus scanners, and the HP ScanJet IIc and IIp scanners connected to the 
  11. HP ScanJet II interface card (C1752-66500 or C1753-66500) are not 
  12. supported.

  15. Manually installing the Windows NT drivers for the HP ScanJet IIcx SCSI 
  16. interface card (C2502-66500 and C2503-66500)
  17. =======================================================================
  18. The installation instructions assume you installed Windows NT using the 
  19. default directory settings. If you did not use the default directory 
  20. settings, substitute the drive and path you specified for installing 
  21. Windows NT for the C:\WINNT in the following instructions.

  23. 1. Copy the following files into the following directories:
  24.

  30. 2. Use Note Pad to add the following line to the end of the CONFIG.NT 
  31.    file in the C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32 directory:

  33.      device=%systemroot%\system32\drivers\HPSCAN16.SYS

  35. 3. Double Click the Main program group in the Program Manager
  36.  
  37. 4. Double Click the Windows NT Setup icon.
  38.  
  39. 5. The WINDOWS NT SETUP dialog box appears. Select Add/Remove SCSI 
  40.    Adapters from the Options menu.
  41.  
  42. 6. The SCSI ADAPTER SETUP dialog box appears. Click the Add button.
  43.  
  44. 7. The SELECT SCSI ADAPTER OPTION dialog box appears. Scroll down and 
  45.    select Other in the Adapter combo-box.
  46.  
  47. 8. The INSERT DISKETTE dialog box appears. Insert the disk with the HP 
  48.    SCSI drivers into drive A:. Overwrite the drive path with 
  49.    A:\NT\NCR and click OK.

  51. 9. The SELECT OEM OPTION dialog box appears. Select the NCR SDMS 53C400A 
  52.    SCSI driver -- HP400NT - 3.00.02 and click OK.

  54. 10. You will return to the SELECT SCSI ADAPTER OPTION dialog box. Select 
  55.     the NCR SDMS 53C400A -- HP400NT - 3.00.02 option and click Install.

  57. 11. The WINDOWS NT SETUP dialog box appears -- asking for the full path 
  58.     to the OEM SCSI adapter files (A:\). Click Continue.
  59.  
  60. 12. You will return to the SCSI ADAPTER SETUP dialog box. Click Close.

  62. 13. You will return to the WINDOWS NT SETUP dialog box. Select Exit from 
  63.     the Option menu.

  65. 14. Select Run from the Program Manager File menu.

  67. 15. Type REGEDT32 and click OK.

  69. 16. The Regedt32 window appears. Select the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE window.

  71. 17. Double-click on SYSTEM

  73. 18. Double-click on CurrentControlSet
  74.  
  75. 19. Double-click on Services
  76.  
  77. 20. Double-click on Scsiscan
  78.  
  79. 21. SINGLE-click on Start:REG_DWORD
  80.  
  81. 22. Select DWORD from the Edit menu.

  83. 23. Specify 0 in the Data field and click OK.

  87. 25. Shut down Windows NT.
